Cookie Policy
LaunchKiwi uses cookies and browser storage sparingly. Here's what we set, why, and how you can control it.
Last updated: June 22, 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) is a related mechanism that lets a site save small pieces of data in your browser. Both are used to remember information between page loads or visits.
2. What We Use
| Name | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| launchkiwi_dark_mode | Persistent | Remembers your light/dark theme preference |
| launchkiwi_votes | Persistent | Tracks which products you've upvoted to prevent duplicate votes |
These are stored in localStorage, not as HTTP cookies. They are strictly necessary to deliver the Service as expected and cannot be disabled without breaking core features.
We collect anonymised, aggregated usage data (page views, referrer, feature interactions) to understand how the site is used and where we can improve it. This data is not linked to any individual and does not identify you personally. No third-party advertising cookies are set.
3. What We Do Not Use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Fingerprinting or device tracking
- Any cookies that track you across other websites
4. How to Control Cookies
You can clear localStorage data at any time through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. This will reset your theme preference and upvote history.
Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies via their settings menus. Note that disabling storage entirely may affect how the site behaves (for example, your theme preference won't persist).
Because we don't serve advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, no cookie consent banner is required under most privacy regulations for our current setup. If this changes, we will update this policy and add appropriate controls.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of LaunchKiwi after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
