About LaunchKiwi

What is LaunchKiwi?

LaunchKiwi is a weekly directory of indie launches — SaaS products, developer tools, design utilities, and AI-powered products built by independent founders and small teams. It exists to give real products a permanent, discoverable home outside the noise of social media.

Who is LaunchKiwi for?

LaunchKiwi is for two groups: indie founders who want their product discovered, and builders who are looking for well-crafted tools built by people like them. No venture-backed mega-corps. No algorithm games. Just real products, voted on by real builders.

How is LaunchKiwi different from Product Hunt or other directories?

Most directories are dominated by marketing budgets and launch-day momentum. LaunchKiwi is intentionally community-first — every listing gets a permanent page indexed by search engines and discoverable by AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. Your listing has value on day one and continues compounding over time.

Is it free to browse LaunchKiwi?

Yes. Browsing, searching, filtering, and upvoting are all completely free with no account required.

Submitting a Product

Is it free to submit my product?

Yes, completely free. Your submission starts as pending — it publishes once you verify the LaunchKiwi badge on your site (or an admin approves it). Once live, your ranking is determined by community upvotes.

How do I submit my product?

Click "Launch your project" on the homepage. Enter your product URL — the form autofills as much as possible from your site. Fill in the details: name, tagline, description, logo, pricing model, and relevant tags. After submitting, add the LaunchKiwi badge to your site and verify it to publish your listing.

What types of products can I submit?

We accept SaaS products, developer tools, design utilities, AI-powered tools, productivity apps, and similar software products built by indie founders or small teams. We do not accept physical products, pure content sites, agencies, or services without a self-serve software component.

Can I submit a product that is still in beta or early access?

Yes. Early-access and beta products are welcome as long as the product is real, accessible, and functional. Indicate in your description that it is in early access so visitors know what to expect.

How long does it take for my product to appear in the directory?

Your submission stays pending until you add the LaunchKiwi badge to your site and verify it — verification is usually instant once the badge is live on your page. An admin can also approve a pending listing manually.

What happens if my submission is not accepted?

We'll email you with a brief reason. Common reasons include: the product is not software, the listing is a duplicate, the product appears inactive or inaccessible, or the submission contains inaccurate information. You are welcome to resubmit once the issue is resolved.

Managing Your Listing

How do I claim my listing?

If your product was added to the directory before you submitted it yourself, you'll find a "Claim this listing" option on the product page. Click it, enter your email, and we'll send you a secure claim link. Claiming gives you the ability to update your listing details.

Do I get a badge to place on my website?

Yes. Every listed product gets a LaunchKiwi badge — a small HTML snippet you copy and paste into your site. It links back to your LaunchKiwi listing and serves as social proof for visitors to your own product. You can find your badge snippet in your listing dashboard after claiming.

Can I update my listing after it goes live?

Yes. Once you have claimed your listing, you can update your product name, tagline, description, logo, and other details. Changes are reviewed before they go live to maintain directory quality.

How do I remove my listing?

Email [email protected] from the address associated with your submission or claimed listing. We will remove it within 2 business days.

What is a verified listing?

A verified badge indicates the listing has been claimed by the actual founder or an authorised representative of the product. It signals to visitors that the information is current and maintained by someone with first-hand knowledge of the product.

Voting and Rankings

How does upvoting work?

Any visitor can upvote a product once. Votes are tracked by IP address and stored in your browser so you don't need an account. Vote counts are public and contribute to weekly rankings. You cannot downvote — the focus is on surfacing great products, not penalising others.

Can I vote for my own product?

You can cast one vote like any other visitor. Coordinating votes from friends, team members, or external sources to inflate your count artificially is not allowed and may result in your listing being removed.

How are rankings determined?

Rankings are based primarily on upvote counts within each time window (Today, Past Week, Past Month). Within the same vote count, more recently submitted products appear higher. Products are never permanently buried — a strong launch day can still bring consistent community discovery.

For Visitors

How do I find products for a specific use case?

Use the category filters or the search bar to narrow results by type (AI, Developer Tools, Design, SaaS, etc.). You can also filter by pricing model (Free, Freemium, Paid). Every listing includes a description written by the maker so you can quickly assess fit.

Can I suggest a product I've found?

Yes — email [email protected] with the product's website and a brief note on why you think it belongs. If it meets our criteria we'll reach out to the founder and invite them to claim a listing.

Is there a newsletter or way to stay updated on new launches?

We send a weekly digest of new launches. Enter your email in the newsletter section on the homepage to subscribe. You'll hear about the best new products each week, curated from the community.
